Established on August 28, 1992 with the approval of Yunnan Provincial Government , the Yunnan Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment ( hereinafter referred to as YAEFI ) is a non-profit-earning social organization consists of the following members: enterprises with foreign capital which is approved to be established by Yunnan Province, enterprises set up by compatriot from Hong Kong , Macau, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese, as well as those non-profit-earning corporate body. It possesses a membership of more than 600 enterprises and is a corporative legal representative.

PURPOSES OF THE ASSOCIATION

The purposes of this Association are as follows:

1. To provide services for its members and investors in accordance with the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China on opening to the outside world and encouraging foreign investment.

2. To protect the legal interests and rights of its members.

3. To enhance the links, the communication and cooperation between the members and the governmental organizations.

4. To promote the active role of the member in the international cooperation and the construction of China’s modernizations.

TASKS OF THE ASSOCIATION

1. To popularize and to carry out the laws, regulations, general and specific policies of the People’s Republic of China on opening to the outside world and utilizing foreign capitals; To make introductions on the investment environment of China; To provide necessary information and advisory services to outside businessmen coming to China.

2. To promote the development of enterprises by mobilizing experience exchange workshops and giving commendation to the advanced units.

3. To submit report and requirements of membership enterprises to the relevant authorities upon investigations. To accept complaints from its members, to safeguard the legal and benefit to its members and the investors.

4. To organize its members to participate in the quota bidding of the export commodities, anti-dumping lawsuit and other issues according to the governmental authorization and entrustment; to mediate trade disputes incurred between its members.

5. To conduct training class, study group, workshops and business investigations based on the requirements of its members, to improve the quality and professional skills of the management staff.

6. To mobilize various commodity sale fair within and outside China for the purpose to promote markets.

7. To organize PR activities in different forms to strengthen the links and understandings between its members and the relevant governmental departments, as well as to enhance the friendship and the cooperation between its members.

8. To develop friendly communications with the relevant foreign authorities and organizations as well as to promote international communications and cooperation’s.

9. To conduct research on the theoretical policies on absorbing foreign investment, to put forward suggestions to the referent government departments provide necessary information on domestic and international market for its members and to compile and make publications on the work concerning encouraging foreign investment.

10. To handle issues entrusted by the relevant governmental departments and its members.
