Since 1987 when the first national forest park was established in Wanding City, Yunnan has established many national and provincial forest parks. By the end of 1995, Yunnan had established 17 national forest parks and five provincial ones. These parks occupy an area of 550,000 hectares and boast 120—odd scenic spots.
