Abundant natural resources make Yunnan the No.1 Province in terms of nature reserves with a total area of 2.025 million hectares, making up 5.14% of the total area of Yunnan and ranking first in China. Altogether there are six state reserves, 43 provincial reserves and 55 prefecture—and county—level reserves.
